What Matters Now…

The question underneath everything.

Love is the foundation. Life, Love, Laugh are the rooms. And clarity is the light. It shifts with the season, changes with the hour, illuminates what was always there but hard to see.

What matters now is deceptively simple. And that's exactly why it's powerful.

  • It's personal. What matters changes. There's a point when getting into the right college, having the right boyfriend, landing the job — those things matter. And they should. But life shifts. Values shift. Loss changes us. Wounds change us. We pivot. We learn something new about ourselves we didn't know before. We change our minds. And then one day you find yourself asking — does this still matter? Do I still need the big house? Do I actually want that job? When do I let this go? Am I stuck? Is this burnout? What questions do I even need to ask to find my way through? What matters now at 57 looks nothing like what mattered at 37. Or 17. And that's not failure. That's the whole point.

  • It's universal. Everyone is asking it. The woman in midlife. The one whose marriage just ended. The one whose kids left. The one who just got the diagnosis. The one who finally set the limit and lost someone over it. They're all asking what matters now — most of them just haven't named it yet.

  • It's timeless but urgent. It doesn't date. You can ask it at 35 or 75. But it always feels immediate. Now does that. It creates presence.

  • It's the question underneath every room. What matters now in how I care for my body? What matters now in my relationships? What matters now in where I travel and how I spend my time? What matters now in what makes me laugh and cry?

  • It's a gentle confrontation. Because most of us are spending time and energy on things that don't matter now. Jen Knows holds up a mirror to that. Gently. Honestly. With love.
